Latest News : A busy month has passed since the last newsletter, and a lot has changed so thought it would be worth keeping you up to date with all the latest news. There have been 2 summer specials on the station starting with the Inhibit Crew’s 24 hour show from Perth Australia. NeO and myself were worried our stream would not cope with the load of listeners that we were expecting, but we were not let down by the technology. The maximum peak was a mere 5 lower than our current capacity. Yes there was the odd jump in the stream for some of our uk listeners, but the load of not only the sound stream, but also 2 webcams streaming live was always going to put pressure onto anybodys internet connection. As for the show itself, well its already been said by many people in not only our forum, but other forums worldwide as well. The Inhibit Crew representing Perth Australia in the best possible way on KRISISDnB. It has been thought that the show may hold some form of record for any internet radio show across any station. We have not looked into this as yet, but if anyone has some facts then please let us know. Then it was the turn of the UK KRISISDnB crew for our 2 day special Onslaught. There were a few apologies from DJs and MCs who could not make it, but nevertheless there was a massive turnout in KRISIS Studio X for our first ever 2 day special. On what must have been one of the hottest days of the crappy summer we have had this year, it was hard to bear the heat throughout the day. We hope that everyone locked, and also those that were there enjoyed the show. The progress the site has made is shown well in the voting chart with us competing well against other more established stations, but we have slipped from top spot in the last week or so, making it even more important that you please keep voting KRISISDnB for top website every day, as every vote can make all the difference !! The link is on the front page of the site. Over the last few weeks we have seen an opportunity to broaden the appeal of the station by adding different, but still underground genres of music to the lineup. A few of the DJs on the station have been playing some ‘Breaks’ sets in their shows and have had some good responses from you the listeners, and even more recently we have added ‘Bassline garage’ to the schedule, firstly with DJ Inspiron, and now with DJ Kaz making his return to KRISISDnB after a summer of Banger Racing. We hope you like the variety as much as we do. Let us know your opinion. The next special will be INF-X-ION on the 13th October 3-9pm as we bring DJ SubSonic over from Belgium for his first show on the station. Bringing another host of DJs and MCs to Studio X in Southampton this will probably be the last special before the Xmas Special so make sure you lock on. There are big plans being worked on for the first KRISISDnB Xmas Special. Well over a year since NeO and myself started broadcasting, its time to step up yet another gear and show the progress not only we have made, but also the DJs, MCs, supporters and most importantly the listeners who are all now part of the KRISISDnB family. This event will be the biggest so far, and will be a teaser for the things to come in 2008 and beyond. Also watch out soon for some exclusive interviews with some of the DJs and MCs who have played on the station. As some of you know already we have had international producers and DJs Dub Alley on the station a couple of times already thanks to the Inhibit Crew. Alongside working on their new EP we will also have an exclusive interview from them in the near future.
Site Updates :
The last month has seen more shows using the live webcams. The Certified Sickness crew on Mondays 8-10pm, Wednesdays 6-8pm and Fridays 8-10pm, as well as DJ Generic b2b DJ Sky on their show on Thursday 8-10pm. With more new DJs joining in the last month we hope to increase the number of webcams being used as they settle in. K-onnect, the new instant messenger is now live on the site from the front page as a new way to contact other users on the site. It only takes a minute to register and in its first 2 weeks we have over 40 people registered on it already. This uses popup technology so you will need to have popups enabled for the krisisdnb website to use this (don’t be afraid, its perfectly safe, you wont get popups for casinos, loans, or any adult content). On KRISISDnB there are no boundaries to how far this site can go, so breaking the general rules for a radio station site, we have added GameZone, an area with a collection of arcade games, which will change every now and then depending on their popularity. Something a bit different we know, but this makes the site more appealing to everyone. We are well aware that we have said this before, but a new look website is still on the cards at some point in the near future. Some improved technical bits are ready to go, and may be introduced soon, but a new feel to the site is what we are still needing. To make this happen we are looking for someone with some original ideas to make the site stand out from the crowd. The ‘template’ route is not something we want to do as were not just ‘any other website’. So if you have the creative touch and want to help then contact NeO or myself (MX) on admin@krisisdnb.com . We will be more than happy to give you the full credit for any help you can give. Some changes have happened in the Java chatroom, some you will have noticed, like the new logos that DJ Generic has made for the site, and some that you wont have noticed but have made it a lot more stable recently (I hope that’s not a kiss of death). We have some help on board from Karlos (Mburr) who has made this possible so a big cheers to him for the help and support we have had.

New DJs and Shows : To make way for some of his college work, DJ B.Phonic has moved from his Friday 10-midnight (uk time) slot to Sunday night midnight-2am Monday morning (uk time). Show some support if you can for our DJ from Los Angeles who is getting the KRISISDnB name known stateside. The Inhibit Crew have moved their shows to prime time (7-10pm perth time) for all the Perth Massive that lock on regularly. That translates to a lunchtime show (Midday-3pm uktime). Ideal for those at work as you can now lock on in your lunch break!!! DJ Leon Blue moves his late night Thursday slot to Wednesdays 10pm-midnight following on after NoVa and Kirkman Little Miss Lethal Monday 4-6pm and Sunday 1-3pm – Miss Lethal is a well known DJ in her local area hosting her own regular live event with some of the biggest DJs and MCs in the business, so it’s a real pleasure to get another established artist, as well as our first regular female DJ on the station. Do not expect any mellowness or liquidy feel to Lethals shows, this class DJ smashes it every time! BE WARNED !!! DJ Inspiron Saturday 2-4AM (yes, the early hours) – Primarily focusing on Bassline garage vibes, Inspiron adds something a bit different to the station. Not everyones ‘can of Stella’, but both NeO and myself saw an opportunity to let a young DJ develop his skills. DJ Savage (coming soon) – Another DJ from Hampshire whose DJ name describes his tune selection. Keep an eye out for his shows in the near future DJ Mixup Thursdays 4-6pm and 10-midnight – Started his first shows last week, playing some banging jump up DnB for your Thursday afternoon and evening DJ Deep aka Macky Gee and DJ Max Bruce Saturdays 6-8pm – Joining the station from RuffRadio, these 2 know how to bang out some tunes !!! Lock on after the Saturday football to get ur evening off to a blinder! DJ Kaz Tuesday 4.30-6pm – After a summer of banger racing, Kaz is back on KRISISDnB. If you have followed the station since we started you will know what to expect from this DJ from Essex. Bassline garage beatz and possibly one of the most entertaining DJs we have on the station make Kaz’s shows unique to say the least .
