The 18th till 29th June 2009 saw Leandre Henrique Da Silva (aka DJ RUSTY) come to the uk for his first ever time !! From the UK we hardly know the size of the Drum and Bass scene in Sao Paulo but believe me its BIG!! With artists such as Rusty, Marky and Crytical Dub being the best known artists it was a true pleasure to have Rusty come to stay in KRISIS TOWERS in Southampton and to be able to show him around the southern half of the UK.

It wasnt easy to get him in to the uk and took a lot of planning to do as much as we could to get immigration know it really was as a holiday. Yes there were guest appearances at our latest KRISIS event as well as up in Peterborough for 23RROR BASS but this whole trip was a dream come true for the little brazilian.

A 15 hour flight to the uk was never going to be easy and especially after the plane disappeared from brazil a few weeks ago wasnt going to help anyones nerves. Then Heathrow immigration held us up for around 4 hours before letting Rusty in the country. It was good to finally get to Southampton late on thursday night.

The next 10 days were a blur as we did so much. Friday it was the long trip up to Peterborough. We took the opportunity to pass by Blackmarket Records in London. I had spoken to Nicky beforehand and knew however that he wasnt going to be there, however Rusty got his chance to meet Ash-Attack and also to see his own tune on the shelves for sale. I could see then that it was a very proud moment for him to see his own records outside his own country. It meant so much to him. A bagful of records later it was off to peterborough for 23RROR BASS. Big ups to Hallsie and Selecta for inviting us up there, and also to everyone there including Shufunk, Lokut (who i did my set with) and to Rusty for a class set after a very long flight the day before.

Time for a party on saturday !!! Its fairly regular to do something back at KRISIS STUDIO X and was the first time for Rusty to meet some of the crew. Taylor and Shakey were over and a few others as well. Was bound to be more in the coming week ! The sunday management show was the first official show from Rusty in the UK and he smashed it as he always does.

Monday was off to Chemical Records in Bristol and first chance to meet DJ BREAKNECK. Another red hot day and a boat trip as well on the way to yet another place Rusty had never thought he would ever see. Yet more vinyl in the bag and back to Southampton after a few beers with Breakneck. Monday night only means one thing.. RUSTY IN THE UK PROMO AUDIO RECORDS SHOW LIVE FROM 10.30PM LIVE FROM STUDIO X !!! Rusty had to run things in his usual way. Running into the early hours made another class show from the Killa from Brazilla !!!

Tuesday was going to be a quieter day and promo time for Bournemouth. Had to pick up more flyers to be given out. Trip to Gosport and a chance to see the Spinnaker Tower and HMS Daring (The new Royal Navy Type 45 Destroyer). Then back to Studio X for the Tuesday management show. We had originally planned this to be the next Cage battle event with DJ Dose but had to move that to the sunday. Either way the regular crew of DJ Ror, Taylor, Shakey and Stamma were all here with G-Rat making a guest appearance as well. Once again Rusty smashed it!!

Wednesday was time to hit London again !! Rusty wanted to be a tourist !!! So the London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus, Oxford Street and another trip back to Blackmarket Records !! This time PA003 had its full release and has already sold loads in BM Records !! Making it big Rusty !!!

Thursday was a quiet day of promo for fridays event and for rusty to catch up with people back home on aim and msn.

Friday and down to Bournemouth for GRID RECORDINGS vs PROMO AUDIO vs KRISIS !!! Not the busiest event weve had but still a lot of fun and once again giving Rusty the chance to play this time alongside Twisted Individual, Sub Zero, Breakneck, Dose, Adge, MC Spooka, TT Ace, Double L and more. Big ups to everyone who came along and helped make Rustys 2nd uk appearance that little bit special.

Saturday a chance to recover before the last main event on Sunday when we finally managed to get DJ DOSE over for the long awaited Cage battle show. With Shakey unable to make this show it was MC Stamma's chance alongside MC Pathos to share a set with Killlaaaa !!! The vids and pics show the sickness unfolding ! One of the highlights of the week and full credit to both Rusty and Dose for a show that will not be forgotten for a long time !!

Time to go home Rusty. The long trip up to heathrow was in front of us on another baking hot day and im wishing we had got a train booked instead of a steaming hot coach. Too late now and it was always going to be a mission for Rusty to be able to pack all his stuff and keep under the weight limits. A busy heathrow airport and time for one last drink before he was off.

Big ups Rusty, was a true pleasure to have you over for your first ever trip to the uk. The weather we had was the hottest in the uk so far this year so it must have felt like home to you. I know you wanted it cold so will get you back next winter haha !!
