DJ Breakneck is set to be one of the stars of 2009. With a collection of releases under his belt now on not only Second City Records, but also Step Express we thought it would be a good time to bring Breakneck to Bournemouth for our launch night at Empire Club.

KRISISDnB : Thanks for being interviewed for the KRISISDnB.COM website. Firstly can you give us a brief background to how you got into DnB?

Breakneck : Was interested since the early days, but the '96 jump-up really kicked things off for me.

KRISISDnB : Can you tell us the projects you are working on at the moment?

Breakneck : A remix of 'Immaculate' for MC Spooka, a collab tune with scratch DJ Mat the Alien and a track with vocals by MC Murdok from New York.

KRISISDnB : What can we expect from your appearance at your first KRISISDnB event?

Breakneck : Plenty of exclusives and VIPs, plus a few surprises!!

KRISISDnB : How long have you been mixing and producing and what got you started on both?

Breakneck : Got into mixing about 15 years ago after hearing mixtapes from the early raves. As for production, my mate Vandal got me started with Fruity Loops. Got my first pc about 5 years back so I could get stuck into Logic.

KRISISDnB : What other types of music do you listen to?

Breakneck : All types of hip-hop and any '92-'96 event recordings I can get my hands on.

KRISISDnB : What are your targets for the next year or 2?

Breakneck : To put out releases on a regular basis and play out as much as possible.

KRISISDnB : Who are your favourite DJs and MCs worldwide?

Breakneck : DJ Capital J, Hype, DJ Vapour. MC Jakes, Eksman + Spooka.
