Twin Audio aka Alter Ego (Finn People)

KrisisDnB interviews ..... Twin Audio (aka Alter Ego)

Twin Audio (Alter Ego) are well known in the DnB world over recent years for making class tunes. Barrie and Michael made their first appearance with KRISIS at The Mitre on the 2nd August. It was a wicked night with class vibes, plenty of people and top notch sets from everyone involved. The night is still spoken about now.

Since then they have been back in Southampton on the 24th October to take part in our biggest night yet featuring not only Twin Audio, but also Dangerous, Nightbreed, MC Skydro and MC Felon (guest appearance)

Name : Twin Audio (Michael Bowles & Barrie Manners)

Record Label : Finn People

Home Town : Banbury, UK

Website : Coming Soon!

KRISISDnB: Firstly big ups Barrie and Michael for coming down to Southampton for one of our events. It really was a sick night. How did you think it went and did you both enjoy it?

TWIN AUDIO: It was a banging night mate, well worth the drive down. Everyone made us feel welcome and the atmosphere was top notch.

KRISISDnB: What are the next events you have lined up?

TWIN AUDIO: We have just won a dj competition for residency at a night called Indelible in Banbury; they put on a night every month so make sure you get down ere!

KRISISDnB: Most DJs will have at least one of your tunes in their collection. What’s your personal favorite tune you have made so far and why do you like it so much?

TWIN AUDIO: As we have to pick a favorite it would probably be “Predator” which was our second release on Source Recordings, it’s a simple dirty tune that goes off every time. Watch out for Predator VIP gonna be a proppa bomb.

KRISISDnB: You have loads of tunes on multiple labels. Have you got any plans to either start your own label or are you happy getting releases across the variety of labels you’re linked with?

TWIN AUDIO: Yeah we have a label starting very soon called Twin Audio Records. We are currently working on a monster for our first release so hope to have it launched at the start of 2009.

KRISISDnB: How long have you been mixing and producing and what got you started on both?

TWIN AUDIO: We have been producing and djing for nearly 7 years and Id say that watching the world dmc championships first inspired us to start mixing and scratching. Then about a year later we got into the whole producing side of things, naturally it took us a while to get our head round, but soon as we’d worked out the basics we knew this was the path to take.

KRISISDnB: Where do you find the inspiration for your tunes and what other influences have played a part in what you do?

TWIN AUDIO: We get our inspiration from a wide range of places such as films, computer games and other artists

KRISISDnB: What advice would you give to up coming producers trying to break their music into the scene?

TWIN AUDIO: Never give up

KRISISDnB: What other types of music do you listen to?

TWIN AUDIO: A bit of everything really.

KRISISDnB: What are your targets for the next year or 2?

TWIN AUDIO: Our main aim is to get our own label setup and try to do a few more collaborations. Ideally we would like to have a release out every month

KRISISDnB: Who are your favorite DJs and MCs worldwide?

TWIN AUDIO: Hazard, Mampi Swift, Shabba and Fearless

KRISISDnB: As usual in our interviews we like to make ours a bit different from other interviews you may have done, so here is the 10second round...

KRISISDnB: Vinyl or mp3?

TWIN AUDIO: Was vinyl but have changed to mp3

KRISISDnB: Online record shop or local record shop?

TWIN AUDIO: Online

KRISISDnB: Promo or Picture disc??

TWIN AUDIO: Promo

KRISISDnB: Mixmag or Kmag?

TWIN AUDIO: Kmag

KRISISDnB: One Nation or Random Concept?

TWIN AUDIO: Random Concept

KRISISDnB: Innovation in the Sun or Innovation at the Dam?

TWIN AUDIO: In the Sun

KRISISDnB: A lot of producers are trying their hands with either dub step or breaks. What’s your opinion and is it something you may do as well?

TWIN AUDIO: Yeah we may do something in the future but at the moment were concentrating on DnB.

KRISISDnB: What’s your opinion on the current state of DnB? How do you see it moving in the next few years?

TWIN AUDIO: I think at the moment it’s getting more popular and can only imagine it will get bigger and bigger in years to come.

KRISISDnB: Ok, last question

KRISISDnB: Anything you want to mention that we haven’t covered already? Any shout outs etc?

TWIN AUDIO: Yeah big up’s to Mickey, Liam (aka fret one), Dangerous, Coco (Dope Ammo) and more importantly everyone that supports us and buys our records.

KRISISDnB: Cheers for being interviewed for the site. Looking forward to having you back at a krisis event very soon!!!
