Lol, I've always stuck to

Lol,

I've always stuck to Vinyl but as i haven't properly brought tunes in years (since my son was born)i find myself headed in the mp3 direction recently picking up tracktor to mix from the laptop......cheap / free tunes & i still get to use vinyl......;0)

Damn.....all i need now is to get the £££'s together for the soundcard to go with it and i'll be away ;0)

mp3

Great video!! well funny!
When the first dj's started to use mp3s many years ago i always said ''ill neva use mp3's - its bad for the scene - when hell freezes over'' e.t.c! but now i very rarely use a vinyl in a set. It pains me to say it because i am still a great believer in the sound quality of a clean vinyl and also i like the 'hands on' feels of mixing with vinyl. There are many reasons for my transition from wax to cds the main ones being this...
1. Theres a reccesion on u know and £1 or free in some cases is beta than £6 or £7 a pop!
2. Theres a lot of producers in our scene now in my area and indeed all over the world so using mp3 is a great way to play tracks that get sent to u by people looking for some playtime.
3. In my sets i like 2 drop as many bangers as possible in an hour!! and i find with cd decks i can squeeze a few more in.

In a perfect world i would spend a few grand on a vinyl cutter and still download mp3 but cutt em 2 vinyl and mix with them because like i said i am still a great believer in vinyl but have been tempted away by price and variety of tunes.
SHAME ON ME!!!!

I agree with what Fly

I agree with what Fly said..... i also used to predominantly play vinyl but have switched over to mp3/cd lately as i can purchase more tunes in mp3 format (beatport, trackitdown etc)+ also get sent tunes from producers to promote in my shows. I would love to support vinyl+ have a very big collection of vinyl but atm mp3 seems to be the better choice for me, although i still love vinyl
I have talked with many ppl on this subject+ peeps always fall into 2 different categories-

1) Vinyl purists
2) peeps who play out using cdj's+ also ppl getting tunes sent to them.

The way i see it though is there shouldnt be any rivalry between the 2 types mentioned as it should be "all about the music".

If i could afford to I would definetely buy the latest vinyl releases as it usually takes up to a few weeks (or even months in some cases!!!) for some tunes to be released digitally.

Oh yeah and the vid made me laugh, what a jackass playing cds on a needle lol
